Waht is 'new'?
New = Better?
New is better than the existing thing.
The word 'new' about the same as 'innovation'.
Until now many innovators achieve a great work.
For example, among others there was Leonardo davinci.
Leonardo davinci was a forerunner of culture that integrates art with technology.
These days engineers and artists collabolate for make new works of art.
Past times peoples are thought that technology and art not match as if like water and oil.
But, we predicts that a combination of technology and art are important culture code.

Past times people didn't use the word 'new media'. But these days it is used frequently.
So far, the word 'new media' have not been defined.

Summary) Theoretical Background 1: Traditional Thoughts on Art
Past times western philosophers had many thoughts about art.
Is art necessary? What are the influences that art has upon the world?
Western philosophers has had many ideas to get answers to these questions.
On my point of view, I feel that art plays a role as the leader that conducts culture.
By looking through the works of art in the past, it is easy to understand that remains of culture of the corresponding period.
On the other side, art can have numerous effects for the future.
As we go along the class, we'll be looking at more kinds of effects on culture.
Although this was my first time to attend an English class and was not able to understand some parts, this class has been an interesting class.
From now on, I'd like to try to think more deeply about the philosophers mentioned during class, such as Plato, Aristoteles, Greek mythology, Hume, Kant, Hegel, Goodman, Heidegger.
